Hi Paul.
Glad to see you sorted out the photo posting issues.
Great looking Bergpanther your doing, The flag hanging out of the rear bin is a realy nice touch. That winch assembly is a monsterous looking piece of kit.

Hi fellas.

Bit more progress and a few more pictures. After a coat of paint 3 of Daves excellent jerry cans were fixed to the wooden decking of the Berg.

I was going to use a conventional stain for the woodwork but decided to go for an enamel/turps wash in two wood shades and I think it has turned out quite well, the wooden planking on the outside of the compartment was done the same way prior to camo paint.

Now that the tools are on I managed to get the shurtzen primed in the sunshine, so ready to start putting the tracks together now.

Got the shurtzen painted and in place,

these can now be removed and wrapped up safely for collection. So only the crane parts to build and paint, then fit the tracks and this one can be put to bed.

Paul,
Have you got any shots through the drivers/radio ops opening ?
I noticed you have detailed this area and was wondering how much room there is when the motors are installed.
May try something similar with the Panther although less will be visable when viewed through the hatches.

Hello Steve.

Sorry mate I can't now that the winch is in place you can see very little at all of the inside, its nothing like being able to lift off a turret.
I just had a quick measure for you and I get 55mm from the deck to the floor of the kit provided box that forms the driver compartment, this is fairly close as I have only covered it with plasticard chequer plate, below the kit supplied box you have only around 15 mm or so befor you hit the drive motors!so only around 70mm all together, I know it was a fiddle getting the wires and linkage for the M.G connected . . . much swearing and puffing and blowing ha ha.
As I think I said before all I have done is only semi scale just to add some interest to an otherwise plain area of the model, I suppose you could make up your own driver box to suit your own requirements but I only did this off my own bat to make the customers model more individual, hope he likes it . I used Daves seats for what I have done and they needed the back rests to be shortened a little so they would fit in.
Hope this helps a bit, and I look forward to seeing what you come up with as I still have my own Panther to do.

Thanks for the info. Will see what is required when i get the motors installed.
As i said before there is much less visable through the hatches, so just a small amount of detail may be sufficent.

It works quite nicely, bit of paint on the bucket and fit the tracks now, its been a good weekend, having got more done than I expected.
