Günter, I have made the mould for the filler caps and cast some in white metal.
Did you make a seperate one for the rear filler cap or are you using same as sides. I am away in France at the moment and will send some of these to you when I get home. Just took some photos before flying out.
HI JOHN
wow they look great did you use white metal the finish is great mutch better than my one,s, great job ,well done
all the best ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,nick
the casting look great !! The rear cap is different to the side caps. I milled the rear cap seperate. I have to redesign the rear cap for casting because it ist only 0.5 mm thick. I think this is to less for casting. I send you the rear cap, when it is finished.
Realy excellent items to work with Gunther. Yes Nick, white metal. I have been making up castellated nuts in brass. For dummys I might cast some. Cast ones will work fine as dummys. I have about four different sizes.
the last days I prepared my Panzer IV for the fair in Karlsruhe. It is not finished yet (the idler are still missing, many screws at the mud guards have to be added ...), but I have painted the model. It is not weathered yet.
Hello Gunter
you have done a great job on the whole thing it looks realy good i particulaly like the crew that adds the finishing touch all the tools and brackets you made look fantastic this is one of the great builds thanks for posting its progress .
all the best ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,nick
first thank you, for your answers. Over the last weekend I could add some details.
I added the springs at the rear and front mud guards
the brackets for the turret doors
I also added a bottop plate to the turret. So I can safely park the turret and the wiring will not get in conflict with the batteries under the turret
some details to the track tensioner. I donst know for what that lever is
l/h side with straps for the small exhaust
one spare road wheel attached to the smoke discharger box
a second attached to the right side. I was inspirated by the Tankograd No. 4006 and "PzKpfw. IV Ausf. A-F at War"
and last the tow rope, which is a little bit to short, but if you study pictures, you can find every type of tow ropes ...
the next picture shows one of three track links which got brocken an the fair in Karlsruhe. The model is very robust! I have tested the chassis in detail, although the sand was not really good (big stones ...). Another result was, that I had to check the wheel suspesions, because I used some times less threadlocker.
At last a short video from the animation of the crew. The right arm of the commander has to be adjusted.animation 8.3 MB
