Factory allocation

Post by Adrian Harris »

I'm sure I've seen a list somewhere which gives the Tiger allocation by fahrgestell number. Does it ring any bells with anyone else ?

I have in mind the details I want to add, so it would be good to identify which units would have received a Tiger in that configuration, so I can get the paint scheme correct.

Adrian.

Hi Adrian
There is a Tiger 1 production list from April 1942 to August 1944 in
"Germany's Tiger Tanks" "D.W. To Tiger 1,Design,Production & modifications"
By Jentz,Hilary and Foyle.
Shows the FGSE NR V1 to 251346 split up into the dates,On Page 68
Another 2 good books are the Tigers in combat 1 and 2,
They have for each unit
ombat Diary
Photo Coverage
Inventory and losses charts
Unit organisation diagrams.
Plus a seperate chapter for all units
For Equipment
Organisation
and Camouflage markings
Book 1 is the Abeilung 501 to 511
Book 2 is all the named units.
All Great books.
Hope that helps a bit.
Regards
Phil

Thanks Phil.

I have those books and have been looking through them, but the table I was remembering is in the back of the MMiR Modellers's Guide to the Tiger.

I want to use Mike Stannard's rear hull travel lock, which was only fitted to Tigers with ordinary wheels between hulls between 250635 and 250821, as steel wheels were introduced at 250822.

Looking at the table in the MMiR book, this gives me s.PzAbt. 502, 507, 508 and 509 as recipients of these hull numbers.

This ties in with my desire to do an Italian campaign Tiger, so it looks like it will belong to s.Pz.Abt.508 :D
