Brilliant weathering, wish I could learn your technique. Getting my first set of reading glasses this week. Finally realized it's not the lighting, brush or paint. I will have a go at some techniques then.

I am still learning,experimenting and having fun with the weathering.
Phil Woolard talked me through the techniques via PM's last year when I did my
Comet.
With the T34-85 I am getting inspiration from the dvd that Stephen recommended,
"Dealing with Photoetch",Adam Wilder.
Its a great dvd,shows the museum outside Moscow full of T34's,I particularly liked the
winding up chapter which continuously move from view to view of the bare metal Tank
and then painted and weathered view,think I am wearing my pause and rewind buttons
out.

My other favourite dvd is from the expert model craft range,Realistic Armor Finishing
Techniques by Marcus Nicholls.
He goes through lots of air brushing and dry brushing techniques on the 1/35 Kits.

Below is a picture of my dry brushing stuff and some of the colours I use and my favourite brush,
the one in the midle,also showing the bit of wood I use to put the paint on first to adjust the dryness
or wetness.
The rest is just experimenting with stippling,rubbing,scrubbing and light strokes,practicing on a bit of prepared
metal,preferably the same colour as your model but not neccessary.

That is realy looking good phil i like all that weathering you are doing love the soot stains off the exhausts realy good.
It looks like its driven all the way from the rusian factory to your door .Those steal boxes are very good to.

Done a bit more weathering on the hull and Turret,but it was time to put my
ID markings on before doing any more weathering on the Turret

Thank you,it helps that you are allowed to be a bit rough.
I made some cardboard stencils,which ended up fine because I had
to use the paint onto my bit of wood first and then stiple and rub the
paint onto the stencil and it wouldnt run soak into the cardbourd.
I had to hold the stencils in position all the time because the cast
texture acted like Zimerit and no tape would stick to it

Hello Phil, I am still following your build. I have the same question concerning the 'T34 light', my guess it is one of your conversions.....'torch by B & Q'.....

Hello Phil

I have done the same used the Armorpax search light and i put foil tape in the back and 2 12vdc wheat bulbs in clear plastic lens and hey presto a head light.

I never thought of foil tape when I did my Comet one,I tried aluminium cooking
foil but couldnt keep the creases out.
I will keep that good info in the tool box for next time.
Have you got one bulb in the light and the other just enable the use of the
spare auxiliary connection at 24 volt

I just put both bulbs in the light so i get a better light from it.
