Here are some pictures on progress.
Still experimenting with clear resin. This stuff is difficult to mix in small quantities and takes a long time to cure. Mix is 100:1, Resin:hardener.

Re: John's Late Tiger 1
There is a section on David Byrden's site with detail and measurements fot the storage boxes for direct vision blocks. For some reason I cannot open the phptos. If anybody has details I would be greatful. As i can make the vision blocks it would be nice to have some in storage also.

Re: John's Late Tiger 1
Hi Adrian,
I have made up 6 sets for now. See how they go. They will be cleaned up ready to paint and the fiddly latches that are soldered parts will be ready fitted. Just waiting on the clear resin to cure fully. The sets will be finished at the weekend and I will put some proper photos on then. I would also like to make the storage boxes for the blocks but do not have pictures to go from yet although I believe there were a few versions of this box.

Re: John's Late Tiger 1
Hi John,
Magnificent work, well done!
I am only an "external nut" when it comes to accurate detailing but find this internal things interesting as well.
One tiny thing...
Those vision blocks did not have bakelite housing.
Those were made out of 2mm metal.
http://tiger1.info/EN/DirectVisionBlocks.html
Here are some photos of the real thing.
They are from the Saumur Tiger.
The green colour is post war and was probably black from origin.
Kind regards
Kent

Re: John's Late Tiger 1
Thanks Kent for that. I was wondering about that. Do you know how to open the pictures and drawings on David Byrdens site dealing with the storage boxes for the blocks.
http://tiger1.info/EN/VisionBlockStowage.html
I cannot open the pictures. Could it be that I am using a mac?
I took the measurements for the vision blocks from David Byrden's site but missed the fact that he said they were made of metal so that question is answered. Same size block for the early cupola. That could be useful.

Nor can I see the pictures just a red x.
Guess there is an error there in David’s site, sorry.
