Re: John's Late Tiger 1
John,
Your Tiger is looking great, and fantastic work on the metal boxes. Parts that small are very tedious and time consuming. Best Regards,
Bob

Re: John's Late Tiger 1
After a break of a couple of weeks I am back to work on the Tiger. Have been researching some interior details and have made some progress with the turret view ports. These are my master parts but will probably make some in white metal also.

Hi John
Looking good! I like the interior vision ports.
kind regards
Tim
ps. you weren't dreaming. I had the numbers blue on the first rendering knowing I might be confusing it with 3rd company colors but rushing the drawing. So after definitive confirmation (thanks to Kent) the final numbers will be red with white outline.

A great looking piece John - you'll need to leave the top off the turret at this rate, to
show off all the details

Re: John's Late Tiger 1
Thanks for the comments everybody. I bought a resin vision block recently to try but was disapointed with the part. Did'nt look right. So decided to go with initial plan of making my own.
Simon, this is just a dummy to get the size and shape. I have the materials to try making it up as a white metal kit with clear resin glass blocks. The vision block insert will be removable and I will make spare blocks also. There is a good link on the forum with plenty of pictures and dimensions but I was unable to open the link to the pare vision block storage. I might be able to make it up from pictures. If everything goes well I should have some properly finished parts next week.
I am also making the mp40 stowage rack but measuring the turret interior it looks like the roof is 1 or 2 mm too low so I will need to alter the mp40 slightly to fit.
If there is any interest in these parts let me know but anyway The final parts should be ready soon.

Re: John's Late Tiger 1
Some progress with converting original plastic dummy to metal.
Still some work to do as I need to make the clear resin inserts. Also a locking nut to hold the unit closed.
Regarding the glass block housing. Was this made of bakealite as the periscope prism housings?
