Open Day Competition

This years competition classes will be as follows:

Best German Tank
Best Allied Tank
Best Other AFV
Best Overall Model


The winners of each class, which is voted for by you, will receive a £250.00 Armortek voucher, plus a $250 voucher kindly donated by Mike Stannard of 6th Scale Icons Inc., as well as being treated to a  a high performance Kart racing experience at the Mansell Raceway.

An extra £100 Armortek voucher will also  be given to any of the above winners, who have successfully competed a lap of the Armortek test track, during the day with their winning vehicle. 

Additionally we will have a fun quiz for which the prize of an Action Figure has been kindly donated by Lee Sellars of Newthorpe Models.

All Armortek models  will automatically be entered into the competition with the exception of previous years winners.

Hi Guys,

Hope everyone attending the Open Day will have a great time. Due to some misfortune with my health I can't attend which I regret sincerly. Hope I can join the competition "posthumously" :roll: Gill...

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your concern. I suffered a neck hernia. Had surgery a month ago and I'm not allowed to drive for 6 weeks. That's the reason why I can't attend the Open Day. Recovery is going well, so no worries about that. Now other competitors have a fair chance at the model competition :lol:

I will post some new pictures shortly. almost ready with the final detailling. Take care.

Any chance you can show us mere mortals how you made your shell ejection device? That would go great on my King Tiger and T34!

It's spring released with the spring obviously inside the tube. Reloading is simply done by locking the release hook again(servo operated by a two way switch on my transmitter and pushing the shell back in. In the topic I also showed how to operate the hatch which is quite easy to make.
