Hi Guys
Just wondered if anyone has sold or bought a tank from overseas, and what company they have used, and what price did it cost? This is a full running tank and not a kit, which would be on a pallet, and boxed.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Richie

Firstly draw up a written or have at least a verble contract with your buyer, you both need to undertand the arrangement with the funds, times and duration of the shipping contract exactly what is being sent and it's condition ect.( you must appreciate that the buyer has to part with a large amount of his cash before he gets his goods.
Take photos of the goods before and after being packed and send those pics to the buyer by email, you may also need these as evidence for any insurance claim
The goods ie the model tank needs to be fixed to a euro pallet (use cable ties and or screws through the tracks if poss) with the all up weight not to exceed "whatever" on the label ( your chosen shipping company can then calculate the cost using this information) a Tiger 1 will easily fit as a Tiger 2 does but it's tight, I always enclose the tank in a ply wood case that's reinforced to take the weight of other crates that WILL be stacked on top, mark it fragile, pack the model with snow and or block foam very tightly, make sure the batts are disconected and the terminals insulated well I use plastic caps and a glue gun ( if your crate causes a fire you will be in the shit!) also concider acid spilage.
Cover the goods inside with a water proof plastic sheet, just incase it's left outside in the rain.
Then arange your shipping co who will then pick up with a bloody great lorry and off she go's.
The last Tiger2 that I sold went to Denmark at a cost to the buyer of around £400 notes I left the shipping co for him to arrange.
You will need to state on the label that the contents are what they say are ie a second hand/used afv model ( just google for the latest legal advice for export/import of goods ) as you may have to pay import duty.
This is just friendly advice you a responsible for your own actions.
You used to buy and sell those Stuarts so it's much the same dude.

Not sure from reading your post from where and to you are sending. But Lee Sellars did fine work on my mid-Tiger I. Then we arranged for it's proper packing and safe export (proper wood for crating, etc.), then for the handover to DHL for delivery by Air to my door in the USA. All went smoothly and as quoted by DHL. But the costs of Air shipping and import paperwork can be notable, even moreso lately after recent fuel cost increases. I remain grateful to Lee and recommend him for all his patient good work and thoughtfulness.
If you are delivering from UK to a destination not too far into the continent, then even given the prices of petrol I wonder if you might do well to tie the delivery into a road trip to see the sights around the destination? You could do some hand-holding for the recipient if needed on delivery?
Just typing out loud...
