Driver hatch on T34/85

Post by Martin Diessel »

On the release picture the T34/85 is shown with the early style Drivers hatch with one visor only. Never have seen this on the /85. Does it may a mistake or where there any /85 with early hatches?? Martin

Hi Martin,

The early one visor driver’s hatch was replaced in 1942 with the double visor hatch.
The earlier type of hatch is ok on an early T34-76 but would be rare on 1942 and later models.
However differences between factories did occur.
You would never see the earlier style hatch on a T34-85.

Kind regards
Kent

Hi all

There are a number of detail features in the hull where we have compromised in order to be able to offer both major variants in one manufacturing batch. With so many T34 tanks being built and rebuilt by so many factories it is hard to believe that just about any combination could not have occurred.

We intend to review these details once we know how many of each type are ordered. The sooner poeple order, the sooner we get an indication of batch size and requirements, and the more detail improvements and enchancements can be made.
