Spooky

Post by phil fitzpatrick »

Hi Dennis
I think its his Eyes
But I cant blame him, seeing as my servo rod to the MG travers goes
through his head.
He seems happy enough though :)
Cheers

Main Gun Flash

Post by phil fitzpatrick »

Hi Nick
Glad you was able to view them, when I first put them on I made sure
they worked before I submited them.
Then when I went back myself later they came up with a message that I
needed to down load Flash to view them.
Yet I can view them still from my disc with windoes media viewer.
I probably should have just pasted links on to photobucket another way,
still learning
After ordering a Xenon flasher,I decided to experiment with Halogen
Capsules after turning my dining romm light on and off too quick,I liked
it
The fisrt 2 vidio's were 24vdc 20 Watt the third was 12vdc 50 Watt,had to
use a relay and a delay off timer in the end with advice from Dennis.
The timer is adjustable from 0.02 of a second to 160 seconds.
I have ordered some 12volt and 24 volt 50 watt and 100 Watt Halogen,so
it has the potential to be 5 times brighter than the first vidio.
I have already got stars in my eyes from adjusting them.
I will do another vidio in the dark.
I did some other vidios with the Mg's going then the Gun firing and
traversing but they ended up over 250 mgb and couldnt get them to load.
I think thats over the limit for email attatchmenst aswell.
I liked the slight yellow of the Halogen and a slight decay of the light was
good.
Tamia paint their gun flash red on the Tiger I will have to look at that.
I will keep experimenting.
Cheers
Phil

Looking very very nice Phil, expert build.
I have not been able to view your main gun flash....will have to try again.

I have asked Dennis to explain how he sets up his main gun flash.
I am beginning to feel that the 'sounds' are really good,on the sound board, especially the gun firing....I think, at the moment, I much prefer this, have not got a clue how to go about setting it up though.

If, and when you have time a step by step guide would be appreciated.....bearing in mind my total inexperience.....Not reached that stage yet, still battling with the 'internals'.

Just a quick question Phil, did you take the tank tracks off, when testing the motors on your table....I have a fear if I do not remove mine, I will catch the TX sticks and drive the Comet through the living room wall.. ... mick

Comet

Post by phil fitzpatrick »

Hi Mick
Before I found Armortek I had a nice surprise with my Tammia Tiger,I had
just made myself a Latte coffee put it on the edge of my dining room table
And promptly started my tiger up with the stick in full reverse.
Off she went with cup and all and Amazingly no damage to Tiger or cup,
but a right game cleaning the 2 year old carpet.
So to stop waffling
Yes my Comet is supported on 5 x 3 inch wood blocks under the hull and
the tracks are atleast 2 inch clear of catching anything.
If you are tired you will mess up :(
RE my Main Gun flash,I think Photobucket was playing up last night, but it
was all right later on,I have checked and if you double click on the photo's
it takes you to the vidio's on my photo bucket.
I am just about to put another one on taken in the dark for Nick, with a 50
Watt Halogen.
Dennis is using the Quasar Xenon flasher and is easier and cheaper than
what I am messing with.
I ordered a Xenon then discovered the Halogen so I started experimenting.
But I like the Halogen flash now and the bright white yellow and bit of red
colour.
I havent tried my Xenon yet.
I will put another posting on when I have finnished experimenting,
I thought you said in an earlier posting you had got the Armortek blank
firer,or was I mistaken, because I think you can only do one or the other,
The blank firer I think throws a lot of stuff up the barrel,Ive never had one
so dont know what it looks like.
I think there might be a little vidio some where in the Armortek Gallerry
Cheers

Hello Phil, just a quickie before the football starts....I have been able to see your video...great.

I do have the Blank Firer, however the flash coupled with the sound, looks to be a better option....because the 'sound' of the main gun being fired from the Beni board....with I think, an echo, is superb...I could not leave it alone.
So, when Dennis and your good self have perfected this additional item, I would dearly like to give it a try.....mick

Back Fire

Post by phil fitzpatrick »

Good idea Nick :)
Maybe an led down each pipe.
I've got 3 relays a servo and that many Y leads on my guns, its starting to
get like a birds nest,I will tidy up later.
I will have to see if I can get some some smoke up the barrel like Allan
Richards has done.
That might be another timer relay to shove in
Cheers
