Are colds complusory for Brits at Xmas?

Post by Allan Richards »

I'm sitting here monitoring the progress of various builds through eyes like P*^s holes in the snow, a hanky under my nose, a throat like a bottom of a parrot's cage and the worst cough I've ever had. This is the fifth year in a run I've had a cold when off over Xmas, its got to be something to do with looking forward to a break and relaxing. I'm thinking of moving to Dale country to have Xmas in the summer for once. I've been working on a non tank related project that I got the idea from at W&P last summer (can you remember of visualise warm weather and green ground)??. I was hoping to finish it and post some photos this week but it's on hold now until I can find some energy.

I know it could be a lot worse but I feel a little better now - us Brits definately like a good moan. Grumpy old men (and women) is one of my favourite programmes because its so true.

Well Allan, it seems that maybe they are! Not wishing to let you 'moan' alone. I started to 'hurt' on Christmas evening and have felt horrible ever since. I think your body knows when you slow down a bit and then zap it gets you!.

Gill

Sounds like you and I have the same affliction, it "got" me on Chrismas Eve too and has been a most persistent basket, not letting up at all. Its the cough stopping me sleeping that is most irritating. Lets hope for some relief for the New Year celebrations. If not then I'll definately be better by the 5th Jan, as I start back at work then!!!

Happy New Year

Hi Mick

I am far too outnumbered by men on this forum, to even begin to risk a comment on such a sensitive subject!
