Working Lights
Next the lights:
Front Notek:
Rear Notek:
Rear Stop Light:
Working front lights:
After setting it up, I realised that a crew wouldn't have had the headlights and Noteks on at the time. The headlights were intended for use out of contact and the Noteks were used for tactical driving in contact. So now I ought to work out whether using both Ch 5 and 7 will allow them to be on independent circuits.
Rear Notek in the red and Amber stop light mode:
Rear Notek in the greeen Convoy setting:
Regards
Stephen

Spare roadwheels and hull applique armour
With the spare roadwheel hubs visible, I've turned off the excess flange in order to make the connecting tubes visible:
I also thinned down the circumference of the disk backing the tyre to make it look like a seperate plate.
The kit applique armour is very close to the scale dimensions but there are some subtle changes. I've made a new plate to the scale thickness. It also stands a few mm taller, the driver's sight cut out is a slightly different shape and the cut out for the hull mg is a lot smaller (new plate at the bottom):

Forty Grand
Someone with a bit of marhs could probably come up with an Armortek satisfaction index. It would go something like: price of kit divided by two years of entertainment multiplied by over forty thousand viewings equals a pleasure factor spread over at least three continents.
So, passing the forty thousand hits landmark today, I'd like to offer some thanks - to Gill and Mark for creating such powerful magic and for everyone who has taken an interest in my build. I've taken so much good stuff from seeing and reading about all the wonderful builds on this forum and the most helpful of communities. And it isn't finished yet....
Thanks all.

Hi Stephen,
Don't get too excited, 20,000 of those are probably me. (joke of course) actually only 10,000 are me.
40K is a testament to the quality of your build. Thanks for posting so much information that I know will be useful for me when I start the Stug III.
Kindest regards
Tim

Hull Applique Armour Top Plates
Seeing the posts about the KT turret traverse motor mountings moving with the torque, I opted to add two reinforcing supports. I didn't want use the supplied bolts because the retaining nuts would be exposed on the hull top surface. These mountings use M3 bolts tapped into the hull top plate and cut off flush:
The hull applique armour had top plates rivetted on, presumeably to prevent grenades being trapped in the gap:
On the Ausf N, the right hand plate above the hull MG was omitted to allow access to the ball mount (kugelblende) so that the MG cover could be secured:
Next are the two side plates:
Regards. Thanks for looking.
