Hi all,
Just picking your brains again.........
What MG type was mounted in the hull (as in next to the drivers poistion)?
Was it just a standard MG or one made for that particular job.
The reason I ask is that I have a couple of DID MGs and was considering fitting one in the Panzer IV
Thanks
Chris

Hello Chris
The Hull Mg34 had a special Barrel that was armored for obvious reasons. The barrel was solid with two slits in it.It didnt have holes in it as with the Infantry version. To see one look at the latest Bobby Woll Figure as he has one aswell as a Gurt sack.

Hi Lee,
Thanks for you replie, so were all hull mounted MGs the armoured type or were these brought in in the later years of the war and was it only the MG
34s that were used for this particular role?
Thanks

Hi Chris,
The MG34 modified or MG34T (tanker) came 1942 so before that date they used the standard MG34.
