help needed paint supply (spray can form) uk

hi there
im after some advcice for when i spray my 222
i dont have have any spray gun equipment, so i will need it in spray can form.
im looking at a dak sand colour scheme with a matt finnish.
can anyone recomend me a supplier or make of paint and the correct colour, for this scheme

Hello Sean, not sure if this helps......I have had a similar experience.

I decided to paint my Comet, British Olive Drab BS 298....with a satin finish.

I approached a local car accessories shop and asked if they could help.

To cut a long story short....the assistant telephoned a local car paint supplies, who will mix any paint to order.
Within a few days four 400ml aerosol spray arrived.

Its not cheap....however the Comet is worth every penny you spend

The paint is superb and sprays a real treat. I used an acid etch primer first.

Hello Sean,
Depending on how pedantic you are on the correct colour for your 222 there are a number of routes you can take from the Tamiya spray cans which have a general German yellow to a correct RAL colour match from some of these advertisers on Milweb. The trouble with this is the amounts and the fact they supply in tins and not spray cans, although they might. Another option is find the colour in Enamels and ask a paint shop to match it.
The 222 is quite small so I would be inclined to use White Ensign Enamels and get the correct colour which you can then use as a colour match for a paint supplier. An alternative is to get a cheap airbrush and just use the enamels. The advantage here is you can buy approximately the right amount of paint and never have to worry about getting more paint in the future.

If you want help on the correct RAL for a Desert 222 then let me know. It depends on which period of the Desert War and if you want camouflage. Told you it can be pedantic.

I got my Afrikabeige RAL8000 from: http://www.wehrmachtsgespann.de/ I have not checked but I imagine they will do all the expected shades for the WW2 German vehicles.

There's rather a lot of Euros involved but the paint and the spray cans are fine. I have dealt with them on two occasions without trouble.

You will need to be clear what type of paint - enamel, cellulose or acrylic - you want.
