Steeldragons

Post by Martin Diessel »

Good morning, just want to ask about experience and reputation of Steeldragons/ Florida. I lately have heard that they are not reliable and trustful. Why I am asking is that I ordered some parts beginnig this year. Luckely no high amount. There is one position on backorder.
May I can forget it, or is it worth to wait, since I do not get any reply on mails not even on reminders, asking either for refund or partly delivery.
The hot parts are now the Tiger 1 rear deck hooks and decals for the fire extingusher. May be somebody knows a reliable source to get this from.
Thanks Martin

Yes, I seem to be a victim of this site for the same items as you. I however got a response that I thought was plausable and was ready to wait a bit longer. Not any more. I just opened a dispute with Steel Dragons on Paypal after seeing your post. Only talking about $130 US but it makes me mad.

steel dragons

Post by yves mouton »

Hi, Martin

I have orderd parts for my tiger 1 from steel dragons, some parts are custom made and can take 4 to 6 months. It's the first time that i orderd some parts from steel dragons.

But wen i send a email they respond very quickly, i also know from somebody that they wait till they have a big order of parts.

Mayby you can ask Steve Winstone or Mike Stannard if they want to make your parts that you want, i have a good experiance with these model builders.

Best regards Yves

I've not bought anything from Steel Dragons, so can't comment on their delivery etc but the proprietor is on this forum as Richard T.Tripp, so it might be worth dropping him a PM as well.

Hi Guys

I would like to assure everyone that Richard Tripp of Steel Dragons is a honest person. I have been dealing with him since I first started making 6 scale parts in 2003 and have always found him to be up front in all of our business ventures.

I fully understand the feelings of customers that are concerned when shipping of orders are delayed. I do this full time and I am way behind with many orders and projects as many of you know. Richard does this part time, so it must be very hard for him to keep up.

Quantity and quality takes time to produce and many times we are at the mercy of our suppliers. I placed an order with my investment caster in April, which should have only taken 4 to 6 weeks to produce. I still do not have those parts. I am sure Richard is in the same position.

Regards
Mike Stannard

In reply to a question about decal sources, I am not sure how many other companies make these today but I ordered my Feuerlöscher Decal Set for the Tetra of my Tiger from Michigan Dawg Co. operated by Van W. Stewart. I was very happy with the work and service. :)

That was in June 2006, his E-Mail address was <vwstewart@comcast.net>.

Hope this helps,

M

Hi Martin,

Unfortunately he no longer makes any decals. Maybe ask the guys on the SAG forum who makes the decals now :?:
