Update Tow Rope Eyes

Post by clive Lockwood »

Hi All,
I have made this master of the Towing eye, i have seen a few using it as well as the normal metal eye but i think this one is just a bit different and it,s the one i'm going to use on my own Panzer,
It requires a 630mm steel cable and can be glued in to the sleeve of the eye, if you fancy using this design i can cast these in white metal, just send me a PM.

Hi Dennis, I use a product called milliput, readily available and comes as a two part putty, so you mix equat parts rolling around in your hands untill mixed, then use masking tape either side of your weld area to contain the milliput and then it,s just a case of using a profiled tool to put the actual marks into the putty.
cheers.

Clive, Thanks for that. Waiting to spray lower hull with primer but unfortunately garage is at about -2 degs at the moment and it's too big to heat up, I have a 12 X 12 workshop in the corner but too confined to spray.

Dennis.
