Stewart,
I think black rings would be better on your sand colored gun. Tim is right though, there isn't a right or wrong color. I doubt commanders had the time to dictate what colors to use for this kind of thing - but tigers in Russia used black and white, so maybe there was standardizattion??
Four rings is way too modest for the 88, these things were tank, plane and ship wreckers on the battlefield! I think 14 is a better tally!
Use whatever color for the rings stands out. The excellent photos from Sven <thanks Sven!> look like a dark grey gun. White rings would be better on the dark grey.
I still cannot believe your gun is a stock build. What a gorgeous model. The 88 is one impressive looking gun - all business!

What's a month...
I already went back for a 2 day trip to La Gleize...
Before going to The Ardennes in octobre i would like to go to the archives in Freiburg...
The Ardennes is one thing but as i've heard the Archives will blow your mind...The info, drawings and pictures they have there...
You could stay there a month and still not be wanting to leave...
See you in Octobre (and the others...)
Regards
Sven
