Hope it isn't a red tan...

Looking forward to see your next moves on the KT...

Changed my website a bit and put some more pictures of the KT 213 in La Gleize,Belgium on.Now you can find some 62 pictures on there...
But you have to notice there's a difference between the ones in Bovington for instance the wheels.
KT 213 hasn't got the grease nipples in the center...
Still more to come later but i'm running out of space and i miss some more details

for wich i will have to go back to the Ardennes

So the build is on again and today i have been working with the
C hooks from Mike Stannard and the front driver radio op hatches and plates.
Wonderful weather and a couple of cans of spray what a joy

.

Hull finally red primed and all torsionbars set with new m4 caps.

Front plate Kent treated and ready for some red paint.

So are the hatches. Some sanding left on all of them though.

I skipped the oxide pics and went right on the TS3ed ones

.

Then i went on to the 1st batch of Mikes stuff i recived and man they are a beauty. Waiting on a bunch more from him and another bunch from Steve Winstone. What a feast!!!!!

Have some more gear thats not taken pics of gunners and drivers scope and some more.....but they will be posted when painted.

Hi Freddie, Can I ask you 3 questions:
(1) The 2 holes of the track tags on the bottom of the turret are so low they are blocked by the turret's floor from inside. How did you manage to lock them with 3X15mm cap screw from inside?

(2) Your mantle thicken process will increase its length a little bit. Have you had any difficulty in assembling the whole gun system after the modification?

(3) As you knew already, there are 5 screw holes on the front deck, without same 5 holes on the steel front hatch support underneath. Any reason behind this? Do we need to drill them ourselves?

Has someone got the answers already, please provide the advice too. Thanks to all!

Hi Chang.

You must assemble the track pin tag before you assemble the turret. And yes its blocked so i counter sunk the so i had freed play.

The mantlet i have had no problem with the assembly of, and the traverse of the gun up and down.

On the front deck the 5 holes were missaligned from a early batch
Just drill out the holes in the supportplate, thats how i did it.
As you see i have some black pen markings on the plate wich shows the holes and i think its them you mean.

Got a fine little box form Steve Winstone today!
Man....... Steve! "TOTALLY ACE ITEMS" im thrilled really.
The hatch is to die for and jack and convoy lamp and the reflector
is stunning......Keep me posted when the upgraded mudguards are on its way.......WOW.
Pics will be in shortly as i have to hand in my tax papers wich i hate every year

Well time to get building as i got the jig for the wheels from Steve aswell. Fast delivery and fixing the hatch Thank you very much.

The zimmerit have been put on hold till all of the deckplates have been Kent treated and adjusted as i want them to fit correct.
Needs some grinding on the rear plate as i have mounted it and cant mill it. I simply have to grind it down, rear lift ears will be done the same way.

Hi guys.
Ive come to a standstill with the build at the moment.
Want to build, but the body just cant cope right now. I hate it utterly as i have loads to do.
I started with the wheel conversion as Steve W packed the conversion ring he made wich i can say is a must. Wish i had it before i banged them together and painted them

.
And thought i would be done with them by now, hmmm still got 11
more to go to drill!!!
So ill post some pictures after the weekend if i get something done.

Hi guys finally feel a tad better to do some more work.
So i started fitting Mike Stannards superb panniers mounts for the tow wires and cleaning rods. Had to remeasure some of the points where the mounts should go, and im very very pleased how it turned out. The september one im going to build is going to have its first coat of zimmerit this weekend hopefully. Thnx to a superb overseas "How to do Zim" By Paul Morris wich work i fancy really much. Thank you Paul for the info!!

All mounted and correct spaced

The wire Mike use is soft and really smooth and with cast whitemetal ends. Top of the line made if i may say so.

The brackets are beauties aswell

Cleaning rods Mikes are tapped in the back so you can assemble them.

This looks like the real mount and you can slide it to tighten the tow wire nice work!!!

So i need to sand all the milliput down and start the hard work:).

So thats all for now mabey....just mabey the Von Rosen will be all zimmerited by monday.

Looking excellent! Sides look great with Mike's detail parts installed. I just can't get over how big these King Tigers look. It amazes me every time I see new pictures.

Good luck with the zim treatment, i have just completed the hull of my late Tiger 1 and it takes for ever

Your KT is looking suberb and those detail parts from Mike will add the finishing touch.
Keep up the good work but dont over do it.
