Hi all,

I am posting these photos on behalf of Steve McEvoy, this is his Leopard that is near completion and as you can see from the photos looks great, the sound is awesome with the speakers being 'boxed' in which gives a really deep sound, especially when the gun fires.
I will leave it for Steve to add further commentary if he feels the need.

Thanks for sharing the beautiful Leo 2 photos.

Wonder if Steve you have the close-up photo of the Gun barrel adaptor (XRE028-Leo) locked with the Gun barrel-rear (CV0473) , as shown in the Diagram 5. Recoil Assembly of the Recoil Pack ? Have you met any trouble to lock them together?

Hi Chang, Yes I did have an issue with locking the barrel and adapter. I couldn't get the adapter to screw fully to the barrel no matter how hard I tried I could only get it to within one thread showing. If I had put any more force on it I think something would have sheared. As I don't have a die of that size I decided to live with it as it doesn't affect the movement of the barrel.

I have the same issues and since I am not a mechanical engineer, I will give it to somebody to solve it. I am sure it's easy to solve, maybe it's even my own fault to paint it before dry test ...

Not your fault Andre, the threads on these parts are not good. It's almost like the threads are a different pitch. You have 2 options. either get a tap and die and re do the threads or screw in as tight as you can and live with it. mine went in a bit farther than that, I only have one thread showing so decided to live with it. I did spend a lot of time and cutting oil to actually get it that close. It was just a matter of keep working it back and forth and slowly gaining on it, when I got to the stage with 1 thread showing it had got so tight I decided to leave it at that before shearing it off. Having the thread showing does not interfere with the barrel operation at all. Hope you manage to get it sorted.

On another note, every time I have run the tank I have had the rubber pads dropping off, so far I have had to reglue 14 pads back on, it's not been a problem here driving the tank outside my house because I have found the pads, but if at a show somewhere on grass if you lose the rubber pad the chances of finding them are pretty remote. I'm contemplating removing all the pads and reglueing them with Locktite 480 as the ones I have already done seem rock solid. Bit of a chore but better than losing them all the time.

Thank you Steve and yes, I agree with you that it is not a problem of strength. Yet, as the upper piece XRE026 will be further back attached to the XRE028 adapter, the distance for the red and black XRE022 stopper are not the same anymore. I have not tested but a few millimeters could make a significant difference? or can it be adjusted with the radio or programmed with the recoil module?

Hi all

Steve's Leo is getting some detailing added in the form of welds. I have added welds to the areas where it seems logical welds would have existed, there are not many on the hull but quite a few on the turret.
I hope I have done his Leo justice and will provide take more photos next time I see Steve.

When I get the bits back I can start the re paint, for some reason I had a reaction with the brown paint ,not sure if it was the climate conditions at the time so will strip off what's there and repaint using cellulose paint.
