Hello Andre
This is not mandatory, I do it because I think it's an improvement.
And I enjoy working with brass.

Robert T
Some brass alloys are definitely NOT fun to work with; they can be 'chewy', grabby and just a pill to work with. Especially with twist drills
and too aggressively shaped lathe tools.... Chucking reamers as you used there are probably the best way of getting a reliable bore with any brass type.

Hello Jerry
I've never had a problem with brass, that you are talking about.
Hope I didn't say anything bad now. And jinx my self.
I have the best results with small sharp tines tools on my lathe.

Have a nice day

Hi Yves
The bushes supplied with this run of Jagdpanther are steel.
This is a first for me all my previous kits the bushes were brass as you mentioned.

I would think they will be fine but will need ceramic grease to stop rust seizing things up.

Regards Derek

Hello,

Strange that they go from brass to steel, if there go rust on these bushings it will block the suspension.
Best regards Yves

We recommend using a light application of a lithium based grease - something like WD-40 Specialist White Lithium Grease. This protects the parts well.

Key benefits:
Reduces friction: Provides smooth movement between metal parts, reducing wear and tear.
Prevents rust and corrosion: Creates a protective barrier against moisture and environmental factors.
Prevents galling: Reduces the risk of metals fusing under pressure.
High durability: Long-lasting lubrication that doesn’t easily evaporate or dry out.
Temperature stability: Works effectively in moderate temperature ranges.
Easy application: Stays where applied and doesn't drip or run off easily.

You can also use a heavy automotive grease but the one above will allow for much more precise application.

I continue to make brass bushings.
Only because I think brass is such a good and easy material to work with.

Today we've had wonderful weather, so I took the opportunity to wash and prime paint all the road wheels.
I also washed with thinner after the ultrasonic wash.

It's been a while since I wrote anything here.
I have had my spine operated on for the second time.
So now I'm at it again. :)
Started screwing the chassis together.

I have also put an o-ring on the shaft through the hull, possibly intending to have oil lubrication there.
And assembled the suspension.

Today I had an early Christmas Eve.
Got a package from Mark Lawson, lots of brass candy in it.
To my beloved Jagdpanther.
