Post by Paul Morris »

Hi Fellas.
Organised by the same group as the "Brief encounter" weekend this is a bigger event...the main street is closed off and comes alive with people dressed in 1940's garb military and civilian.
On both days the "town" will be liberated by the allies in a battle re enactment.
On Saturday and Sunday there will be a fly past from the battle of Britain memorial trust, Spitfire on Sat... Spitfire and Dakota on Sunday.
As well as that there are...
Restored military vehicles.
Re enactors.
Trade stands.
Refreshments {local pubs :wink: }
Pipes and drums band.
Parades etc
We are again invited to bring our tanks along and let the public see, plus i have been asked to say anyone who fancies doning a uniform from either side please do!
Last note on this one, the local cub scouts are going but can only attend on one day, but they want to go on the day the tanks are going... so can anyone who is going to attend please let me know and i will tell the organisers and they will let the scouts know.

I am trying to get us in on the Hornby castle do but it has very limited parking so not sure yet.
Cheers Paul. :wink:
