Hi Andre, I went through the same process, but made four of the track links as shown in the photo so that they could be inserted and removed without the need for any additional retention of the end pieces, as they were attached to each individual pin and if the pins started to work loose everything was still retained.

My curiosity has arisen from Martin's stunning work on his Panzer IV ... I did not know about the technique to use pigment powder for wheathering and I decided to try it out. Although the modern tanks like the Leopard don't have heavy wheathering like the WWII, I will give it a try.

So my collection of colors arrived today

Thanks Dale ... I was considering to give the steel pins some oil not to get too rusty ... you mean I should not do that? I have unfortunately no experience with tanks and highly appreciate your thoughts!

The pins are stainless steel (SS304)- they will not rust.
Adding WD40 will just make the surfaces attract dust and dirt so there is no need.

My heart would love to install the motors and electronics ... yet my (little or what is left) brain says, do some wheathering on the bottom first, because this is the last time I might be able to carry the floor without a heavy-lift ...!!

Looking at the big bro ... there is plenty of room to start the toddler colour battle ... but I will have to attach the rollers, bumps and wheel swing arms onto the floor first ... that's not much of weight to add to the floor.

Looking at the pictures above, I am asking myself why bothering to find the correct RAL code for the 6031 bronce green ... it's all light grey now ... !!

Anyway, more work done on the suspension. So far everything looks good and straight forward ... and it's alot of fun !!! My interior remains technical without any scale details. So I tried to paint the suspension and other details in about the same red color that comes from Armortek with the option packs.

So far it looks okey ... having mounted the idler tensioner and tomorrow the last detail, the small bumps (two each side)

Colors are always individual taste, yet I like the idea to have not too many colors inside ... scalers please forgive me!
