We were discussing recoil systems today. I shot a couple of clips to show you the one in Per Sonnervik's JT. This is a scratch build, so differs from Armortek. The small RC aircraft cylinder only has a 5cm throw. It should be 2-3 times that, depending on whether the gun was cold or hot. Despite this, it does a fair job, I think. Still, I am going to get industrial cylinders and valves to get more schwung to it.
The contraption is controlled by an Arduino, which reads the RC gun control servo signal and controls the valve servo on "dead reckoning".
