2025 Armortek Kit Survey

Post by Armortek »

Thank you to all of you who took the time to complete the survey and provide us with some feedback.

The survey is now closed and we have several hundreds of responses to get through.

From the initial analysis it looks like there is a clear winner - but we will parse the data a bit more over the next few days before announcing what our next kit will be after the Challenger 2.

I understand the survey is closed. I meant to add the comment that a BergePanther with functional winch would be a
terrific candidate in addition to the WWII era selections you had on the survey. While Panthers are well represented in the model world
the recovery versions are decidedly under represented.

Just my opinion.

I didn't mention it in the survey, but as WW2 German are favored with most builders. As far as I'm aware, the Jagdpanzer has never been put forward. Looking forward to the results anyway.

I can imagine that the Little Willy is more complicate that it looks. Imagine to do create and replicate all the bolts in 1:6.

For WWI the counterpart for the MARK IV is still missing, the A7V
But in 1:6 it will be a heavy beast.

I've cast my vote and look forward to the result. But one thing to maybe consider: how about a full size Goliath demolition charge layer?

At full size, it would be around the same size and weight of most of Armortek's offerings. OK, accepted, the tracks would be a challenge as would the driving experience. I drove a restored original back in the mid Nineties and it was a real handful to control with the somewhat rudimentary push button wire guided controller. But did it go or what? It was really fast and I managed to end up crashing through the Parisian owner's garden hedge and into the neighbour's garden beyond!

Also saw an exhumed original for sale at the massive Mannheim Veterama parts sale meeting a few years later. Rusty as a dog but eminently restorable, it had been buried under a German railway bridge in 1945, obviously never detonated then forgotten about. The seller was asking 6000 Euros and it didn't hang around too long at this price!

Just a thought...

There's certainly lots around for measurements and it would be fun to use at military shows to scare the Allied armour owners...

If it was the 303 version, it could be Armortek's first (and only?) petrol powered kit.

I understood no Russian armor...

A Goliath? Some folks get bored running a full featured MBT model around- how much faster would that happen with a tracked toaster like a Goliath?
Perhaps if it was made to "explode" in a burst of confetti or harmless white powder it could be used to wake people up at a dull corporate meeting...

An old friend made an RC 1/10 version 20+ years ago which was cute. Black Box Toys offered a 1/6 version that disappeared from the market before almost anyone even knew it existed.

If no BergePanther, my money is on the Matilda II. That would leave the door open to all manner of African Theatre vehicles; M13/40, AB 41, Semovente 75/18, Pz IV F2/G, Crusader, Pz II /Bison 10.5cm, re-issued M3 Grant/Lee, like wise early Pz III variants..... it tantalizes the mind! Not to mention all manner of soft skins...

I'm currently fully committed on kits, so this is only academic for me

Agreed on the Matilda 2 it's a pretty iconic British tank......

Defianitely would love to have a T55 / T62 - so many operated by so many countries. But fairly unlikely in the current climate. I had mentioned it in the survey asking if we can have one with a 'flying turret' :P

Oh how we enjoy the speculation..... Great entertainment prior to the announcement....

Any particular reason for that? (other then the war right now)

Because I don't really see why not.
Like has been mentioned it is one of the most produced and very iconic tanks in the world.

If you're then going to bring in ideology then all the ww2 German tanks should be a no go as well.

Just my thoughts tho if I'm wrong I'm wrong.

As I understand it, you’re wrong :D .

Many years ago, Armortek produced a T-34, with options for both 76 and 85mm turrets. You’d have thought they would have flown off the shelves, right ? Well, they didn’t, the company struggled to shift them, so Armortek believes that Russian stuff doesn’t sell.

So it’s market demand, not ideology. Simple as that.
Mark IV (Liesel, Abteilung 14, France 1918)
